What began as a one-man operation has grown into Jamestown's largest heavy-duty diesel repair facility, built on hard work, resilience, and a commitment to doing the job right.

Our Story

Buffalo City Diesel was founded by Kevin Thoele in 2003 as a one-man repair shop with a simple goal: provide dependable heavy-duty diesel service backed by honest workmanship. Randy and Tim joined the business that same year, helping lay the foundation for the company that exists today.

Six years after opening, disaster struck when the shop was destroyed by fire in 2009. Instead of letting that setback define the business, the team reopened within a week and continued serving customers while planning for the future. In 2010, Buffalo City Diesel moved into its new purpose-built facility, allowing the company to expand its capabilities and better support the growing needs of commercial fleets throughout the region.

Following Kevin's passing in 2021, the employees were able to keep the business open to continue serving our customers. In 2023 three employees purchased the business from his wife, continuing the company he worked so hard to build. Today, that same commitment to quality service, integrity, and customer relationships remains at the heart of everything we do.
